The Walking Dead: This Sorrowful Life

This Week on the Walking Dead:

It has taken me all day to write this blog, (1) because it has been the LONGEST day ever and (2) yesterday's episode was pretty sad.

Merle tried playing hero last night - and for being the racist redneck that he is, he did a pretty fantastic job.  Long story short, Merle captured Michonne because he was going to take her to The Governor.  Somewhere along the drive though, he cut her loose and sent her on her way back to the prison; he had to deal with The Governor on his own.  He was a genius!  For once in my life I was rooting for Merle!

He drank away his sorrows for a bit, blasted some awesome rock music to reel in some walkers, and lead them directly to The Governor and his people.  Merle took down 8 of The Governor's men!  Too bad Ben (or whatever that kid's name was) got in the way; Merle almost took down The Governor as well.  Unfortunately, The Governor caught Merle in his attack and took him down.

Here is where it gets really sad...

The Governor bit off two of Merle's fingers (yes, he bit them off - crazy man!)  Then he was shot dead.  And he was turned into a walker.  This is the really sad part - Daryl went to go help his brother and saw that he was too late.  What does he have to do of course?  Kill him.  He had to kill his own brother!

Sad day.  It brought a tear to my eye.  What on earth does the season finale have in store next week?!

RIP Merle Dixon
